A microbiologist and a whole food enthusiast head to France on vacation. There, they taste artisan yogurt made with fresh, whole milk. When they return home to British Columbia, they’re dismayed to find nothing comparable, so they decide to create it themselves. That’s the story of Tree Island Yogurt. Today, the company makes grass-fed, artisan yogurt at its production plant in the Comox Valley. They handcraft their yogurt in small batches using a blend of 100% fresh whole B.C. milk and carefully selected ingredients. Their mission? To nourish the community, strengthen the local food system and promote land stewardship. Every day, Tree Island Yogurt works towards a healthy, sustainable future. They support local, grass-fed farms with pastures that promote healthy ecosystems, and they use 50% less plastic in their packaging.
